As working mums if we want to thrive it’s vital that we know what our needs are and take intentional action to get them met.
Sounds simple doesn’t it?
But like finding the seam on the sellotape when you haven’t used it in a while. Or finding a matching pair of socks in the laundry. Or folding a fitted sheet. Knowing and meeting our needs as mothers can be deceivingly difficult.
Our wellbeing is closely tied to having our needs met, so unless we can understand our needs, we’ll struggle to truly thrive.
In this episode I share:
- What needs are and the four different types
- Why they’re so important
- Why as mothers it can be so difficult to meet our needs
- Four steps to identifying your needs and getting them met

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is
totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

Mums is kinda plain. You ought to glance at Yahoo’s home page and note how
they create article headlines to get people to
click. You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to get people interested
about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it might bring your posts a little bit more interesting.

First of all I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick
question in which I’d like to ask if you do not
mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior
to writing. I have had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas
out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend
to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
Thanks!
