Episode 77: FIND YOUR UNICORN SPACE: RECLAIM YOUR CREATIVE LIFE IN A TOO-BUSY WORLD
One of the things that I struggled to understand when I hit burnout was how! How did this happen?
I got fiercely curious about it. How could I stop it from happening again if I don’t know how I ended up there.
I had a great husband, wonderful kids, a house, a great job. I had everything I wanted right?
Except I had nothing for me!
I didn’t allow myself any time or space outside of being a parent, partner or professional.
Can you relate?
If you’ve lost sight of yourself underneath your growing list of to-dos then my latest podcast episode is a must-listen!
My guest Eve Rodsky is on a mission to inspire women to live in their full power. She’s author of New York Times bestseller and Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club Pick, ‘Fair Play’. With this book, Eve ignited a global conversation about greater equality in the home.
Eve is working to change society one partnership at a time by coming up with a new 21st-century solution to an age-old problem: women shouldering 2/3 or more of the unpaid domestic work and childcare for their homes and families.
But Eve discovered that even when the domestic workload becomes more balanced women still reported something missing in their lives – they still struggled to prioritise and devote time for activities outside of being a parent, partner or professional.
They struggled to find space to unleash their creativity – Eve calls this vital time Unicorn Space – the active and open pursuit of self-expression in any form that makes you uniquely you. And she is here to tell us why this is not optional – it’s essential. But we might need to remind ourselves how and where to find it.
If you want to FIND YOUR UNICORN SPACE: RECLAIM YOUR CREATIVE LIFE IN A TOO-BUSY WORLD then this episode is a must listen.
